You can just plug the 20 pin connector into the motherboard. Ideally you would have the proper power supply or an adapter, but it isn't absolutely necessary. I have had my HTPC (built from all the spare parts I had laying around) running like this for about a month now with no problems.
The 4 addl pins are redundant, but handy if you have large draws on the mobo. |
