Windows Vista or Xp? What would you prefer?

Just want to know from you guys, what would you prefer to use today, Windows Vista or Xp?

XP for compatibility, Vista for eye candy.

My choice would be XP for Stability and ease of use.

Vista is much more stable than it was when new but can still "hiccup" on occasion.

Myself, I use XP for any machine that I "rely" on for day to day use.

But, I also use Windows Vista Ultimate and Windows Vista Business. Each has its pros and cons.

The ultimate choice... is completely yours. :huh:

I have Vista on my two main machines and the only reason
I have XP on my kids computer is to play older games.

I wouldn't even think about going back to XP after using
Vista. All of my games and applications work perfectly in
my 64bit Vista.

I'm loving XP when I use my desktop, I mainly use my laptop with Vista, though. Had it for two years and thinking about trading down to XP operating system again. That's how much I don't like Vista. :huh:

but im new to computers and have not realy used xp.

the funny thing is if you ask the same question in the xp forum you will probably get the opposite answers.

alot of people dont like change.

just one mans opinion. :huh:

Vista's program warnings and the User Account Control can get annoying sometimes. But I like it because it's newer. But of course, XP has a much better reputation. I have XP on my older home computer (Dell Dimension 4700) and then I have Vista on my laptop (Dell Studio 1535)

Well rumors have it that if you purchased Vista from Dell within a certain time period, that they will give you a free upgrade to Windows 7. That is only if you have purchased Home Premium or above

It all depends on the hardware in question. What processor, how much RAM, etc. Although you can install Vista on a machine with a mere 512 Meg RAM I wouldn't recommend it with anything less than 2 Gig. What software are you planning on running? With a 64bit processor such as the phenom and plenty of ram Vista by far but a P4 with only 768Meg definitely XP.
