Vista freezes during startup

I'm using Vista Home 32bit. I've been getting random restarts and memory dumps, sometimes with the error DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_EQUAL sometimes with no given error, randomly for some time now probably 5 or 6 months. It happens for a while then I'd have no problem for a while and then it would start again. Generally all I do is run firefox and windows media player. Sometimes it burps sometimes it doesn't. But last night I turned on my computer and got a memory dump and now my computer doesn't even get to the login screen before it freezes. Or worse my monitor doesn't recieve any video output.
