Hello:
I just had to replace a failed hard drive in a Dell 5150 laptop. I have that all done and have re-installed Windows XP. I wanted to install the appropriate Dell supplied drivers for things like audio and video especially. I visited the Dell web site, entered the Service Tag number and expected it to tell me what was originally on the system, but I was WRONG. I guess in a way it does but it gives me to many options. How can I best determine what type of video and audio adapters are in the laptop so that I can install the correct drivers? Any nice tools that will help with this?
Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the info. I like the SIW tool, but regretfully it didn't really help. It just says that I have 1394 Adapter. I think that is Firewire adapter if I'm not mistaken, which this Laptop does not have. I guessed at the correct driver and installed a Broadomm 440 10/100 Integrated Adapter. The driver installed and seems fine but I still can't connect to anything, so now I'm not sure. I tried a couple others on the Dell site under my Service Tag but nothing there worked either. I just wish I could be absolutley sure what NIC is in there so I could then be sure of the driver.
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
