We did that on Friday MadDawg, he got the message "This update does not apply" or something like that, (he posted it on page 2) which means it was already on there.

Click here and let's see what happens........... EDIT: Don't download anything if you get there, I just want to see if you are blocked from getting to that site.

I think it's time for you to get checked for malware. Do this and let them take it from there. When they are finished and say you are clean, let's try some of this stuff again.

Oh, I'm sorry, I didn;t see this. Um, yes, I can see the site. But as you said, I'm not going to download anything.
I'm going to follow steps 1-8 in that thread you linked me and post a link to my new thread in here

For Vista SP2 they are offering FREE email, chat and phone support. On the link here it takes you to a select region screen, click US (duh lol). The next screen is the products screen, click Vista SP2 and continue. Now you should be at select a topic: choose update and continue. There you have the three support options. I suggest this BECAUSE: If you get on phone support, you will get Vekentarrah in Delhi. He will ask you if he can use remote assistance. You say yes. He tlls you what to do on your computer to get that going, then he takes control of your computer and gets SP2 installed. Once he starts, he doesn't stop until it is done. No waiting for a new post or anything like that. He doesn't have to search the web for answers, he's got them right there in his little book written in Hindi so he can read it as he goes. I didn't realize that they were offering free phone support for SP2 or I would have suggested it when you first had an SP2 installation problem.

Oh, wow, I didn't know this stuff! Where do I go to get that free help?? Because my mom had an issue and that remote controlled her computer also. I'll contact them as SOON as I run this virus scan thing you linked me to.

SO should I call Microsoft for help now or do I wait until this is resolved?

Definately wait until the malware person tells you that you are finished (or that you have no infection). Don't add or delete files or programs or run any spyware programs until he/she tells you to.

For the Microsoft FREE help site for SP2 click here.

On the link here it takes you to a select region screen, click US (duh lol). The next screen is the products screen, click Vista SP2 and continue. Now you should be at select a topic: choose update and continue. There you have the three support options. Do the phone one.

Remember it is free ONLY for getting Vista SP2 installed. Was your mom's issue an SP2 installation problem?

DId she buy her computer with Vista installed or did she add it later?

I also have a couple of questions for you:

Looking at your log I saw you had the Windows installer Clean up Utility. Did you try to run it at any time on your Office 2007?

What prompted you to say you thought you had the Vitrumonde Virus on that thread?

I had you try to install the System Update Readiness tool. you never told me what happened. Do you remember if it ran or did it tell you it didn't apply to your system? If you don't remember lol, don't try it again now. Wait until after the virus stuff is finished.

Also looking at your logs reminds me I forgot to tell you to update some things lol and how to use JavaRe. No biggie, who ever looks at your log will tell you.

Bit torrents are evil. The same program that allows you to steal programs, movies, games, and music, also puts an unregulated open door into YOUR computer for anyone to install script that will give them access to anything that is on your computer such as bank card numbers, passwords, ect. The way they get passwords and bank numbers is to download a nice keylogger on your computer which will record and tell them every stroke you make on your keyboard. So if you go online to your bank account, they can get your login and password. If you buy something online and enter your credit card number, you have sent THEM your credit card number. While AV's, firewalls and other anti malware are like you closing and locking all the doors and windows in your house, a P2P program is like you knocking out an exterior wall after you have locked the doors and windows. With a wall down, the door and window locks don't serve much purpose do they?

I won't enter a debate with you on the morality of using bit torrents to download copyrighted content, I'm not your priest or your parent. I WILL however tell you of the dangers they pose to your computer security.

Please note: I am NOT giving you advise or making suggestions to the log you posted. LOL That was the first one of that type I have seen. I think it's one of the tools specific to Bleeping Computers. Remember not to do ANYTHING to your computer until they tell you.

I wouldn't know how to do that or if I have. However, I DID run it.

Because that virus is on my comp and won't get off, no matter WHAT I try.

I ran everything possible. Yesterday I went hard on the entire issue (How us young folks refer to 'give it all you got' and read EVERY Microsoft thread about every error I was getting, downloaded EVERYTHING there is to down load, but that 80**** error in update will NOT go away, even AFTER I did everything suggested in the help section.

And this is how I know I have Virtumonde:

just damn.

You will find in life that sometimes when you think you've done suspect you've done something stupid, something else comes along to erase all doubt lol. I was EXTREMELY stupid. I started thinking Malware way back on about post 9. I should have gone with that thought as everything we tried since then was wasting your time and my time with your computer ate up uninvited guests the way it is. Sorry. I'll be watching your virus thread, and as soon as miekiemoes gets finished we'll see if we can't get you squared away in short order.
Just in case: as soon as miekiemos tells you you are clean post on this thread again. That will bump it up so I can see it. I have a busy weekend and a busy week ahead so that will make it easier for me. LOL I have 6 videos to edit that I have blown off the last week and two articles to write.

Thanx alot, man! And you edit videos? That's awesome. I write, direct and act in films. And to make matters worse, I managed to book a meeting with the biggest TV station in my city to pitch my new TV show idea and I've been writing and editing on my iPhone because I don't have ONE writing program on my computer.

Yeah well you didn't tell me you even HAD windows 2007 much less that you were using parts of it until AFTER I had you use the revo tool. Small details like that are good to know when dealing with something. For instance: Since you had 2007 student/home on when you tried to install the enterprise, it would do strange things unless it was an upgrade version. I seriously doubt that it was an upgrade version just because the nature of the program though. Since it's for large corporations and businesses, there would be little need for an upgrade version. An "upgrade" in this case meaning an installation version of the software to "upgrade" a lower version. in this case it would be to convert 2007 home/office into 2007 Office Enterprise. I don't trust or like "upgrade" versions. It seems to me there are more problemwith them, both with the install and the operation afterwards. It's really important that you find out what type you have. If you have an upgrade, then we need to find a lower version of office to get back on your computer to be "upgraded." (If nothing else, I have one that has 2 activations left).

(BTW are you the "tripping dude" or the duck hunter? lol)

EDIT: DUDE!!!!!!!! (how did your entry do?)

I'm not either of them. I'm the writer/director of it, you can see me at the end as the first credit.
