WARNING: You must have your original operating system disk before you start this procedure. /End WARNING In the search prompt under the start menu, type "CMD". When the command prompt window opens, type "sfc /scannow". This process can take some time, and it may ask you to insert your original operating system disk to access Windows files for recopying. ----------------------------------- If all malware has been removed, Windows file repairs should resolve the issue. Of course, Windows Vista repair is not quite the same as Windows XP...go figure. ----------------------------------- DeathStalker's reccomendation for a possible reload is certainly a solution to your problem, as well. If you have any questions about how to back up data, please post prior to formatting or reloading the operating system. This post has been edited by CompuMechs: Jul 1 2009, 10:18 AM |

My apology for not checking the forum sooner. Can you update status: Do you still have that operating system loaded as it was? Did you reload the operating system? Was the earlier attempt at malware removal successful?
