Hello,

I have windows xp home on partition named C:
I have recently installed windows 7 on another partition L: of the same drive.

I had this configuration running perfectly for some time, with the bootloader asking me to choose between the two system on start-up.

It has been sometimes since I haven't reused windows 7 and didn't realize that the bootloader menu was not shown anymore on start-up. I believe I might have restored couple of weeks ago the xp partition with a back-up which was anterior to windows 7 parallel installation.

Now I do not have the choice on the startup and xp loads automatically. Anyone has a solution to restore the bootloader choice on startup?
I have browsed the whole web without being able to find any fix at all!
Many thanks

It would seem that...repairing the Win 7 install is all that it should take...if you can do so.

If not, then a repair of the Win 7 install ought to take care of it (IMO).

The Win 7 bootloader should supercede the XP bootloader, giving you a choice. But the XP bootloader (which seems to be the only installed/working properly) cannot recognize the Win 7 install, so it cannot give you a choice.
