Hi Bleepingcomputer family !!!
I have an Acer Aspire 4520 with Vista Home Premium and 2GB of RAM.
The Internet Explorer just quit working. When I click on the icon to start it, nothing at all happends. I went into Program Files, Internet Explorer folder and clicked on the icon in there and still absolutely nothing happends. There are no pop-ups of any viruses or trogans so I don't THINK it's infected. The Norton antivirus program ran out and I'm going to put Avast on it.
Any clues why Internet Explorer just quit responding ?
Any and ALL help is greatly appreciated !!!

Well duh. The problem is obvious. You are a LilBoyJr. fan. A such, you need a new crew chief.

Ok, so maybe that's not it after all. Uninstall your IE (if you can) and re download it. Did you ever do the upgrade to IE8? Also get rid of that free Norton. I just spent a week on a friends computer (also an Acer) fixing it. He had similar problems but added in he also had a virus or two. How long has the Norton been expired? If it's been a while, you may want to zip over to the Malware forum and make sure you aren't infected. Also when you get rid of the Norton, use the Norton Removal Tool.

Edit: if you installed IE8 through Windows update, you may have to go through it to uninstall it.

The power cord for the laptop is riding in the back of a car and won't be back to me till Monday, late. I will be able to try your suggestion then.

LOL @ the Kyle Petty comment. Up until this year I covered NASCAR (and other forms of stockcar racing) for a Website and we had a pool going in the media center about which lap Petty would be lapped.

When you get your cord let me know if that worked for you. Knowing you are a Junior fan I typed it really slow so you could keep up LOL.

Ok, I have run a few virus scans with Malwarebytes, Spybot, SuperAnti Spyware.... They found a few trogans, viruses, etc...
I still can't get the icon to bring up Internet Explorer at all so I ran HijackThis and created a log. I will send that log to the Virus folks and see what they say.
If I uninstall Internet Explorer, how will I reinstall it ? I have removed Norton with the removal tool. Go Jr. !!!
I wonder what lap Robby Gordon will wreck out each race ?
