As a guest, you can browse and view the various discussions in the forums, but can not create a new topic or reply to an existing one unless you are logged in. Other benefits of registering an account are subscribing to topics and forums, creating a blog, and having no ads shown anywhere on the site. When posting your problem, do not run and post a ComboFix logs. ComboFix is a tool that should only be run under the supervision of someone who has been trained in its use. Using it on your own can cause problems with your computer. Any posts containing CF Logs will be ignored.
To receive help, you should instead provide a detailed description of your problem, detailed word-for-word error messages that you are receiving, screenshots of strange behaviour, and your operating system. This information is much more useful to our helpers than a ComboFix log.

Burstmedia: 2 entries (Browser) CasaleMedia: 8 entries (Browser) DoubleClick: 3 entries (Browser) FastClick: 5 entries (Browser) HitBox: 3 entries (Browser) MediaPlex: 2 entries (Browser) Statcouter: 18 entries (Browser) Zedo: 6 entries (Browser) 47 problems total With these results, I was shocked. I couldn't believe that Spybot detected problems that Malwarebytes couldn't. So, with the results detected, I chose the option of fixing these problems on Spybot. I then ran the search again, yet it displayed the same problems. I hit fix selected problems again and scanned once more, same problems came up. And just today, as I was on the internet, a random internet browser error message pops up, and said it needed to close. I hit okay, but the browser remained opened. So now, I'm confused in what's going on with my computer. I'm not sure how serious the entires are, but I need to know how much they are a threat to my computer and how I can fix them. Computer type: Windows XP Some help would be appreciated. |

Hello
b]We may need to disable Spybot S&D's "TeaTimer"[/b] TeaTimer works by preventing ANY changes to the system. It will attempt to undo any fixes we run, because it blocks these fixes from running. In order to safeguard your system from problems that can be brought on by a half finished fix, we need to disable TeaTimer. We can reenable it when we're done if you like.
Rerun MBAM like this: Open MBAM in normal mode and click Update tab, select Check for Updates, when done click Scanner tab, select Quick scan and scan. After scan click Remove Selected, Post new scan log and Reboot into normal mode. -------------------- Can you spare some PC cycles to help FIND A CURE .. BC FOLDING TEAM Click me /info..

I take you still have issues?
Next run ATF and SAS: From your regular user account.. Download Attribune's ATF Cleaner and then SUPERAntiSpyware , Free Home Version. Save both to desktop .. DO NOT run yet. Open SUPER from icon and install and Update it Under Scanner Options make sure the following are checked (leave all others unchecked): Close browsers before scanning. Scan for tracking cookies. Terminate memory threats before quarantining. Click the "Close" button to leave the control center screen and exit the program. DO NOT run yet. Now reboot into Safe Mode: How to enter safe mode(XP) Using the F8 Method Restart your computer. When the machine first starts again it will generally list some equipment that is installed in your machine, amount of memory, hard drives installed etc. At this point you should gently tap the F8 key repeatedly until you are presented with a Windows XP Advanced Options menu. Select the option for Safe Mode using the arrow keys. Then press enter on your keyboard to boot into Safe Mode. Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program. Under Main "Select Files to Delete" choose: Select All. Click the Empty Selected button. If you use Firefox or Opera browser click that browser at the top and choose: Select All Click the Empty Selected button. If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt. Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program. NOW Scan with SUPER Open from the desktop icon or the program Files list On the left, make sure you check C:\Fixed Drive. Perform a Complete scan. After scan,Verify they are all checked. Click OK on the summary screen to quarantine all found items. If asked if you want to reboot, click "Yes" and reboot normally. To retrieve the removal information after reboot, launch SUPERAntispyware again. Click Preferences, then click the Statistics/Logs tab. Under Scanner Logs, double-click SUPERAntiSpyware Scan Log. If there are several logs, click the current dated log and press View log. A text file will open in your default text editor. Please copy and paste the Scan Log results in your next reply. Click Close to exit the program. Next run part 1 of S!Ri's SmitfraudFix Please download SmitfraudFix Double-click SmitfraudFix.exe Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present). Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply. Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user. http://www.beyondlogic.org/consulting/proc...processutil.htm -------------------- Can you spare some PC cycles to help FIND A CURE .. Ok ,good ,now we'll need to run Part 2..
You should print out these instructions, or copy them to a Notepad file for reading while in Safe Mode, because you will not be able to connect to the Internet to read from this site. Please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
Select option #2 - Clean by typing 2 and press "Enter" to delete infected files. You will be prompted : "Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry ?"; answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter" in order to remove the Desktop background and clean registry keys associated with the infection. The tool will now check if wininet.dll is infected. You may be prompted to replace the infected file (if found); answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter". The tool may need to restart your computer to finish the cleaning process; if it doesn't, please restart anyway into normal Windows. A text file will appear onscreen, with results from the cleaning process; please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply. The report can also be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt Rerun MBAM like this: Open MBAM in normal mode and click Update tab, select Check for Updates, when done click Scanner tab, select Quick scan and scan. After scan click Remove Selected, Post new scan log and Reboot into normal mode. -------------------- Can you spare some PC cycles to help FIND A CURE .. BC FOLDING TEAM Click me /info..

I don't know. I'm not sure if this is right, but for some reason, I ran spybot search and destroy again and this time it resulted in 49 problems! It added two more to CasaleMedia, two more than the total last time. I'm lost right now. A thorough system cleanout not keeping spybot from popping up these problems is beyond me.

Is Teatimer still disabled/
Please run one more tool, thanks. Before we start fixing anything you should print out these instructions or copy them to a NotePad file so they will be accessible. Some steps will require you to disconnect from the Internet or use Safe Mode and you will not have access to this page. Please download Dr.Web CureIt and save it to your desktop. DO NOT perform a scan yet. alternate download link Note: The file will be randomly named (i.e. 5mkuvc4z.exe). Reboot your computer in "Safe Mode" using the F8 method. To do this, restart your computer and after hearing your computer beep once during startup (but before the Windows icon appears) press the F8 key repeatedly. A menu will appear with several options. Use the arrow keys to navigate and select the option to run Windows in "Safe Mode". Scan with Dr.Web CureIt as follows:

OK, let's run one more tool then your Spybot and see how things are.
Please print out and follow these instructions: "How to use SDFix". <- This program is for Windows 2000/XP ONLY. When using this tool, you must use the Administrator's account or an account with "Administrative rights"

As I begin,l I saw something in the temporary disabling section. I saw something about a reset tea-timer for spybot. Do you think that has something to do with these recurring detections? If so, and if I need it, I;ll need a new link to it, since the other one in that section was broken.
