Mouse gets hanged

When I start my system, my mouse gets hanged. Though the system works fine. If I plug out the connection of my mouse from USB port and replug it in again, it works again for a couple of minute and then gets hanged. The pointer remains fixed at a point on screen and the mouse wheel stops working too.

What is causing such problem and how can I solve this problem?

Can you try the mouse in another computer? Can you try another mouse with the computer?
