I have been accessing search for my files, by pressing Win +F. I'm used to hitting the Ctrl key twice for desktop search, and I can do that much easier (without looking). Is there any way to set up/modify the keyboard shortcut for the Windows search 4 ?

Take a look here and see if there's a program to substitute the hotkey.

If not, go to the Coding Snacks forum on the same site and request it. Somebody will tell you about a program they already know about, or something easy like this, they'll just do it for you.

Miles, thanks. Autohotkey was one that was recommended at that site. I've seen it recommended numerous times on Lifehacker but never thought I'd need it. I'll give that a shot.
