Looking for a little advice. I currently have 2 80gb sata hdd's and 1 1tb external. Originally I intended to run the 80gb hdd's in raid 0 and at the time I had a nforce 4 chipset. It gave me trouble going to raid 0 (which appeared to be common for the chipset) so I opted not to. Now I've got a 790fx chipset and would like to do the raid 0.
I'm using Vista Ultimate 64bit and through time I have hours upon hours of settings and programs that I'd rather not lose or have to reinstall and reset. My thought is to do a complete backup whereas an image is created to the external drive using Windows Complete PC Backup and Restore, then reinstall followed with a restore on the raid configuration. I'm concerned that the process of restoring will change hdd drivers and create huge problems. But doing a document backup and restore leaves me hours of reinstalling programs, etc.
What would you recommend?
