I've tried to install FeedReader on a friend's computer, and it installs but then won't start, saying "gds32.dll" is missing.
The FeedReader help forum has no answer that explains/fixes it.
My own computer has been running FeedReader for years and I checked -- I don't have a "gds32.dll" either, according to my search results.
Any ideas?
Or... any ideas for other news/rss readers that aren't full of malware and are decent?
Thanks!
Lynne

Did you remove it and download a fresh copy to reinstall?

Don't know if it's part of FeedReader or not

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around
Do not send me PMs with problems that should be posted in the forums. Keep it in the forums, so everyone benefits

I did, several times. I also tried installing over the net, then downloading the zip file and installing from there. I also looked IN the zip file and the gds32.dll is not in there, so I'm assuming this is a windows file??? Don't know. It's installed on her computer -- it just won't run.
Night before last, I copied my own (working just fine) FeedReader directory from my own computer onto a thumb drive, and copied that onto her computer -- and it still failed the same way.
I'm totally confused...

Go to
http://www.firebirdsql.org/index.php?op=fi...p;id=engine_212
and download file:
Firebird-2.1.2.18118-0_Win32_embed.zip
from there. unpack this file to feedreader folder. Also delete fbclient.dll and rename fbembeded.dll to fbclient.dll.
After this application should run.
Greetings
