BleepingComputer.com: Root File System

Just received my CD from Ubuntu (about 4 weeks)...I'm trying to dual boot it with
a WXP mounted computer and all goes well until I get the dreaded
"No root file system is defined"................
Please correct this from the partioning menu.

When I hit the OK . the same message appears.
What do I do now? Don't forget I'm not all that
computer literate.

I might add that the only way I was able to get Ubuntu 9.04 on another
computer was to install version 7.10 and then updating to 8.04 and again
updating that to 8.10....THEN i upgraded from 8.10 to 9.04.
A long way around the horn....I believe I should be able to get to
9.04 wilth the CD just received...

Are you using the guided partitioning option or are you doing it manually?

I'm using the guided partitioning and in fact
during the installation, that's when I get the
Root file system message......

Hmmm... I don't remember much about the installer, but I believe there was a drop-down box. I think you have to select the backslash (\). As I've said, I don't remember, so I don't know for sure.

Thanks for the input....I bit the bullet again and installed
Ubuntu as the only OS on that computer...Never used
Windows much anyway....
