BleepingComputer.com: Windows Live Messenger problem - 80072ef3

Hi guys

I have been having trouble logging into Windows Live Messenger (WLM) lately. It keeps saying that 'Your contact list is not available right now, please try again later.' Error code: 80072ef3. And when I tried to troubleshoot for the problem it says that the problem is with key ports, and the repair button didn't help with anything.

My WLM is the latest version 2009 (Build 14.0.8064.206). I really have no idea wats the problem with it.

I use proxies and vpn to access the internet since I'm living on-campus........ either there's something wrong with my IE settings, or there's something wrong with the WLM service.

If any of u guys have the same problem, or a solution, then it would be great to please share ur thoughts on this.
