It's happened twice today. I've checked the battery for water damage and it seems fine. I may need to send it in for checking, but I'm wondering if there's anything I can do. It's quite funny as I've been having quite a few dreams about getting my phone wet. Does anyone know what it could be?

Have you tried a Master Reset?

I think there's more to it than that. I've done a master reset and updated my phone and still it happens. I was wondering if it was due to knocks as this apparently is a feature in most portable media players. After banging my phone against my mattress I couldn't conclude much. I heard from someone that Sony Ericsson phones are designed to turn off like this if they haven't been updated on a regular basis. The kind of corporate conspiracy theory that I'm inclined to believe, especially after a few pints of cider and being paid for text messages I don't want. I'm gonna try and register with Orange online before I go for a contract sim card, which is my aim. If anyone could get information on what I said about Sony Ericsson it would be good. If possible I would try and avoid such phone in future. I'll try and check back as soon as I can.
Thanks
Chris.
