Uninstalling a router how do you uninstall router and switch back to modem

Hello,

I've noticed my internet has been running slower since I've installed a NetGear wireless router WGR614 v7 54 mbps.
I was wondering how to change back to my modem and uninstall that router so I won't need it anymore.
