BleepingComputer.com: Two operating Xp SP3 on C, and Xp SP2 on D

Hi I'm new here but hope there is help to get from the experts. I have had problems with my PC suddenly get black and have to be rebooted, therefor I try to re install first Xp SP2 both on SP2 and 3. The latest I installed SP3 on C drive, and like to get away with Sp2 on D drive, as I think it's cause problem on Explorer. Can not down load anything from there. Will get a message like this : Internet Explorer has encounter a problem and needs to close.We are sorry for the inconviniense. App. name iexplore.exe ms coree.dll.
There maybe are two different problems but hope for answer

I suspect explorer has a corrupt file.
Uninstall your version of IE, and download IE from Microsoft.com/downloads.
Another way to go http://www.updatexp.com/scannow-sfc.html try that, as it may fix a corrupt file.
If you have SP3, it has all of SP2's updates and more.
