I recently bought a new computer and running Windows XP 64-bit on it. Installed in the computer is a Leadtek DTV 1000s tv tuner. When I got my computer from the blokes, they gave me all the cds that came with the hardware. I managed to find the Winfast PVR2 program but unable to find the driver for my tuner.

I went to the leadtek site and downloaded the drivers.

By the way, I tried both the XP 64 bit driver and the Windows XP driver (unspecified if it was for 32 or 64 bit).

When I installed the driver using the hardware manager, it gives me error 39.

Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device.

What is going on?

My experience with tuner cards...uninstall all drivers relating to the tuner card (via Device Manager) and uninstall the Winfast PVR2 program (via Add/Remove Programs).

Reboot.

Install the correct driver for your O/S...then install the software to use tuner card.

Thanks, I'll try that when I get home. I'll post and keep you updated.

Thanks for the input.

Tried the suggestions so far and doesn't seem to be working. Guess I might need to upgrade to vista home premium to get it working.

Before I do that, any other suggestions?

No...every tuner card that I have had (Pinnacle, ATI AIW, Hauppauge)...any problems are solved by uninstalling everything and reinstalling the correct driver for the card...then the software package.

Might check the Leadtek forums.

Ok, somehow it started working for no reason.

Hmm, weird.

Anyway, thanks for everything.
