My girlfriend's laptop the other day suddenly restarted without warning and stopped booting into Windows. Instead, when she starts it up it gives her a bunch of recovery options, none of which work. We've even tried reformatting. She gets to the login screen for the first time, and then it just says "Shutting down", and restarts with the same problem as before. Does she have some kind of Bios virus or something? It doesn't act like a hardware problem and it can't be a virus because we've reformatted it... three times now actually. Any idea what's going on?
Also, she's got Vista Home Premium.
