BleepingComputer.com: WINDOWS VISTA BOOTABLE DISK

Hi, im new here and just signed up becasue i have been looking everywhere to download Vista.
I had vista on my computer but got a new hdd and now i need to install vista on it. I have the serial number but no "Install CDS"
I converted the Recover partion from my other hdd into an ISO and burnt it through Nero 9 bootable disk but it does not work

Is there anyway i can download the OS and use my serial number? It is Vista Home Basic

I assume you have a HP or something similar?

I would suggest contacting the Supplier for your Machine for the Disks you need? That would be the Better way to do it.

If you know your Serial Number it would also be Ok to either Borrow a Disk or ask your Computer Store to Burn a Copy for you.

Either way explain fully exactly what has happened?

Its a no brand.
The computer came with vista on it and i bought a new hdd and dont want to use the hdd with vista on it, i want to transfer vista over to my new hdd.
I have the serial number but no disks.

Sorry for the Delay, I did ask for Help from others, but I think they are as confused as I am?

Firstly, you have a Machine that firstly you say is a No Brand, then say in another Thread is a Compaq Pressario tower as in here?

Compaq were taken over by HP and Most Machines set up will run Vista fine, but do not have Drivers for XP. I am just surmising to try to Help out?

I do not actuatually use Vista, but know from experience that HP/ Compaq always worked differentently to normal in Drivers and interchange Parts for many years, particularly in with XP and Vista.

if you have a Machine from them that was set up to Vista it is very difficult to get XP to run on that Machine because the Machine simply will not recognise XP Drivers and there are few availailable to match in. Hench your wish to reinstall Vista?

Edit. If I am right in what I say, contact Compaq/HP and get their Disks.

Hey mate, my girlfriend has the Compaq Presario and her monitor has stopped working and im trying to help her get it working.

My computer is a no brand, and i have xp on it right now, but i want to get vista. I have the vista serial number but i need to get a vista bootable disk. Vista is on my old HDD and i bought a new and bigger HDD and want to use that in my computer, so im trying to get a vista bootable disk

How did WIN XP become involved?

Normally it is simply using either a Borrowed Disk or a Copy made by your Local Computer Store.

If you have a legitimate vista serial number you can try and order a media kit:

If this is a warez serial then it wont work.
