Whenever I try to watch a Youtube video, or any other video online (with the exception of YouTube videos on the video.aol.com website,) I get an error message that says that I either have java turned off, or need to upgrade to the latest version of Flash.

AFAIK, the flash is updated, and Java is turned on.

I can't download the update (firewall I guess, not sure) and my Internet Options say Java's turned on. It worked fine for a long time. And, the other computers, configured the exact same way, can watch just fine.

Like I said, the only videos I can watch are Youtube videos hidden on the Video.Aol.com website.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Jeremy

What version of Flash do you have? You can check that in Add/Remove Programs.

Flash 10 is the latest version. Go to the first link and use the Flash uninstall tool to uninstall the old version. Then go to the second link and install the new version. But you have to uninstall the old version first.

I am scared to delete this program, as I don't know if I'll be able to download it again, and I need it for my job.

Well, there should be nothing keeping you from installing it, unless you have a virus or something.

I don't see what the problem is. I have done this plenty of times and there's nothing to it. And this is the only way to upgrade to the new version of Flash. The new version won't install unless you uninstall the old version first. It will tell you that it installed but it won't work. There's no other way.

It tells me that I have to had administrative priviledges to download/install. I am behind a company fire wall, I think.

That's different. You need to talk to your IT person.
