Here's a good search engine worth bookmarking, it's called Wolfram and has gone on a Public Alpha stage as of today, It has been developed and aimed at giving people direct answers to their questions instead of sending you to various sites.

A web tool hailed as a significant rival to search giant Google has gone live to the public.

Wolfram Alpha is called a computation knowledge engine rather than a search engine and wants to change the way people use online data.

It aims to give people direct answers to queries rather than send them to other sites where they may find what they are seeking.

The system is the brainchild of British-born physicist Stephen Wolfram.

I've only tried it a few times with simple questions which it answered well, although amazingly my Brother and Mum managed to kill it with their questions it was only able to answer about 3 or 4 of the 12 they asked.

Anyway it's worth having a look if you haven't already and asking it a few questions if you can think of any.

The Internet is so big, so powerful and pointless that for some people it is a complete substitute for life.
