Hi I recently downloaded and installed gimp so I could make my own graphics and what not. It is fairly hard to get started and learn the basics so I was wondering if anyone had or knew of any good gimp tutorial sites.

The only one I've found is here:
http://www.gimp.org/tutorials/

... I'd be interested to hear of others.

Wow! I'm looking forward to getting my teeth into that site (and book). That should keep me off the street for a few months - thanks for the link Scarlett!

I know I have the .GIF file working that I made with the gimp but when I try to make it my avatar on this site it doesn't seem to work. Any thoughts as to why?? It looks good for it being only my first animated image. Atleast thats what I think.

Thanks for that Lovenick! thumbup.gif

A good collection of tutorials there, though none of it seems to be original content, just links to a few other sites (including gimp.org).

Some good tutorials there, for older versions of GIMP, but I think they still work pretty well. You just need to know where to find replacement functions and how to improvise.

Yeah, there're lots of tutorials in Pixel2Life. For example, only about Photoshop they have nearly 7000. And yeah, they link to tutorials hosted in another websites, but it is "legal" link ;)
