I plan to upgrade to Windows Vista hopefully soon.

How do i know if my processor is 32 or 64 bit? I have Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4Gz on each of my Dells.

I do already know how to find out of the OS is 32 or 64 bit version (right now i am runing Windows Xp home).

I want to upgrade to Windows Vista Home Premium 64 Bit.

Both of my Computers have a max capacity of 4Gb of RAM. I have 2Gb in stalled on each right now.

I want to be able to utlize all of my RAM when i upgrade, i do know that the 32 bit OS will only recongize 3 or 3.5Gb.

Go to CPU ID
Download their program (You have to scroll down some until you get to a table.
Run as administrator
It will not directly tell you, but from the picture you can figure it out

All Core 2 Duo's are 64 bit. The way to tell in CPU-Z is by looking under Instructions and look for EM64T which indicates that it supports 64 bit. As I recall, if this were an AMD CPU it would say AMD64 (if anyone knows better, feel free to correct me ;) ).

Top is manufacturer- Mine's AMD, yours is Intel
Below is name- Phenom x4 means I have a quad-core Phenom processor

EDIT:

He responded while I was typing, and is also completely right.

EDIT:

So specifically where on that screenshot that it indicates whether ur processor is a 32 bit or a 64 bit?

Because currently, i'm using 32 bit OS, but I've technically got 4 GB of ram, and from wat i heard, 32 bit OS only recognise about 2.5 - 3 GB of ram. From the way my system is running, it seems like i've got only 2.5 GB of ram.

Coz yea, i would also like to upgrade to a 64 bit OS in the near future, just for the heck of utilizing the most of my god given ram.

It says whether it supports 64 bit or not under Instructions in CPU-Z. For Intel processors it will say EM64T if they support x64 and for AMD processors it will say x86-64  . If those aren't present, your CPU doesn't support 64 bit.
