I have to say and say this honestly , I have never had a crash , never had an issue , never had any problem whatsoever , I even purposely installed several virus/trojans , trying to crash the system and it wont go down (please dont send me your virus/trojans!) This system is unstoppable , it just wont die , if it restarts for whatever reason, updates , power failures whatever , it always restarts ! I have changed most of the setting the way I like it , in other words control panel has been revamped the way I like it!
I love Vista , I may be the only person on the planet who does!
I have been involved in computers since the 80's , having been a builder ,network consultant during that time , This Gateway I bought was the first non built system I have owned since 1990 , it has an AMD processor , I plan on staying true to AMD as well ,
My system is old but works fine:

Agreed, running without UAC enabled is a bad idea.

Agreed, I love Vista and I hardly ever see UAC prompts any more (usually only when installing software which is one of those situations where I WANT Windows to prompt for permission as it can prevent drive-by downloads and installs of malicious gunk

Windows "Media Center Edition" is simply XP with some stuff cobbled in.
I haven't seen MCE work 100% right yet.
Vista is a cobbled up mess that MS kept taking features out of to try to get it stable & to w2ork right.
After the delays on releasing Vista started getting embarrassing Bill Gates told his guys to get it working the best they could, & released it.
Windows 7 will be what Vista was supposed to be.
Windows 7 is pretty much Vista cleaned up with UAC toned down.
The reason it is "Windows 7" is to distance it from the stigma of Vitsa.
Vista will go on the shelf next to Windows ME to keep it company.
[I know a few people that thoght ME was the best ever]
