Windows Photo Gallery

HI guys,

I've looked in the database and run autorun and I think I've got quite a bit of work to do. In the meantime, every time I boot up the PC, windows trys to run photogallery. I don't know why and I can't seem to find an option to turn it off, have you any ideas at all.

It also does the same as soon as I open any file media relating to photos or movies. Any ideas as to where it could be related to?

What is the title of the program when it opens? Windows Photo Gallery?

Hi Grinler, yes its windows photgallery, but i've searched high and lo on the options to stop it and can't find anything. Sorry for the slow reply I was away from home

Is it trying to install it, or does it just start the program? If its starting the program, do you have any cameras connected at the time?

No features, nothing connected, its the typical windows installer but it says 'Please wait while windows configures' then gathering information and when it realises it doesn't have the info it asks for a CD rom with the info on and asks for the 'Photogallery disk'

This sounds like a bugger windows installer. The only thing I can think to try and is remove the installer.
Download and install the windows installer cleanup utility:

Then run it from the start menu. Look for the Windows Photo Gallery line and select it. Then click remove.
