Hello, I've been investigating this issue for about 2 weeks now, but it all started with an issue with an infected restore point on one of the two drives I use on my computer. The drive in question is only used for storage of music, pictures, etc., yet somehow one of its restore points was infected with what NOD32 referred to as a "toolbar.asksbar" application. Now, I've tried turning off System Restore and rebooting as well as using disk clean-up on the appropriate drive, but the restore points are still there.
I've explored the SVI folder and found the {GUID}/RP folder that the supposedly infected file is in, I simply cannot do anything about it though. It appears I may be having problems with clearing System Restore's restore points. Every time I shut it down and reboot, or use disk clean-up, the RP folders are all still there. Is there a problem with System Restore I've not heard of? Any help is truly appreciated, thank you.

Are you using any real-time malware scanners, such as Spybot S&D's Teatimer function Which monitors and prevents changes?
You might have to disable them or try safe mode

No, I'm not using any malware scanners at the time I'm afraid. I tried safe-mode earlier on to no avail as well.

Super Anti Spyware has a locked file cleaner in it. You may want to try that.
