hi, my name is Dante and i just bought a pretty nice computer but i have some questions and some problems.
questions:
1.)should i install xp pro instead, because i have heard that its better than vista
2.)safari or firefox?
3.) there's always a crap load of applications running, what ones dont i need?
and the problems im having are game problems!!!
when running diablo 2 in full screen, if i put the map on it lags
cube 2 it lags
when running almost any game ever it LAGGGGS
specs:
acer aspire 6930
intel core2 duo t6400
(2 ghz, 800mhz, 2mb l2cache)
(up to)? 1695 mb mobile intel graphics accelerator
4 GB DDR2 MEMORY
320 GIG HARD DRIVE
AND 802.11 A/B/G/draft-n wlan (whatever that meens)

As a general idea, you may need to upgrade your graphics drivers, and check the games' sites for Vista patches.
1. XP and wait until W7 (and its first service pack) have been issued.
2. I prefer Firefox, but you can use both then decide which you like better.
3. See the tab at the top of the page "Startup List." This offers guidance about which is needed, optional,etc. When in doubt about an entry, leave it alone and post about it in the Vista forum. Many applications have "quick launches;" these certain speed up opening a programme when you need it, but at the cost of part of it running constantly in the background.

upgrade graphics card drivers like jgweed said and sound card and any other thing you can fined that updates some thing in your computer expect things like bios updates as they may make the computer worse

plus do you play old games? like diablo 2
well running them in windows 98 compatbilti mode may help
right click on the game exe or shortcut and you should thing a tab for it
