You have to burn the image to a new, fresh CD. You can't reuse the disk you originally messed up. And be sure to use a CD, not a DVD. The reason is a bit complicated, but you will have problems if you try to use a DVD.

I am really starting to NOT like the issues I am having with trying to install my drivers for webcam, camera, and a few other things I get error messages saying thing like.....
End-of-central-directory signature not found. Either this file is not
a zipfile, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part archive. In the
latter case the central directory and zipfile comment will be found on
the last disk(s) of this archive.
zipinfo: cannot find zipfile directory in one of /home/helen/Desktop/qc848enu.exe or
/home/helen/Desktop/qc848enu.exe.zip, and cannot find /home/helen/Desktop/qc848enu.exe.ZIP, period.
What is that supposed to mean?

It means the file is missing or corrupt. What are the devices exactly (Manufacturer, Model)? Webcams tend not to play well with Linux from my history, however every camera I've ever used has worked w/o drivers (accesses them as external drives)

Hardware support works differently with ubuntu. You don't use .exe files like you would in windows. often, new hardware just works, but when it doesn't you can usually do a search like "ubuntu webcam" or "ubuntu external hard drive" to find out what you need to do to get it to work. In firefox, I just put "ubuntu webcam" in the address bar, and it took me here, which looks promising. Searching with specific info about your hardware sometimes gets better results, So if that site doesn't help, try searching for whatever brand names, etc. you can find on the webcam with ubuntu, like "joe's awesome webcam ubuntu" or something.
Also, the site ubuntuforums.org is definitely worth checking out. Most of the time when I have some problem, someone's already posted a similar problem there, and often it's been solved.
Good luck!
Also, the error message there... You're trying to open an exe file, which ubuntu doesn't use.
