Hi Admin or MODs,

I happen to be reading your following guide

Simple and easy ways to keep your computer safe and secure on the Internet

and when I tired to go to the Page that you referred to "Rogue/Suspect Anti-Spyware Products & Web Sites" ... my Antivirus (AVIRA) blocked 2 instances of Virus/Trojan!!!

I wanted to Alert you folks to that.

Q1: Why do I get Virus Hits on that Site?

Q2: Has that Site been hijacked ... or is it a "Safe Site"?

It's a safe site
It's run by Spyware Warrior

Looking into it. Not sure what to make of it at this point.

Interestig.. I have Avira and do not get that.

How do I get help? Who is helping me?

Its most likely the Antivirus signatures. Many vendors also work with "hardcoded" text paths for detection, so if in one of the guides a malicious path is posted, Avira thinks its on your pc and alerts you.

I have avira too and I do not get any such message. Strange.

I looked through the source of the page and it looks fine. No suspicious javascript, iframes, objects. These must be false positives on Avira's end.

Hi folks,

Really APPRECIATE all of you folks looking into this.

I am more of Click & Go type of a person ... real newb in AntiVirus and stuff ... so when this happened ... I panicked ...

FYI here is my Set-up for now ... Vista Home Prem., 64-bit; Windows Defender; CFP on Max Setting; Avira; Spyware Blaster; SAS; MBAM. And I update my definitions everyday and I run on-demand scanners almost every day or so, or anytime I feel something funny is happening.

BTW, today Avira reported "USB Disinfector Program" as Malicious Software. So, I deleted the program. Somewhere here was recommended to run on USB Thumbdrives to make sure you are clean!!!

Q: So, is my Avira totally acting up weird!?!?
