I have a Dell Inspiron with Vista 6.0 basic. When I turn on my computer the Dell logo appears. If left in launch startup repair, microsoft corporation bar appears at the bottom of the screen, then the blue screen appears. It says in part "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. Technical information: ***Stop STOP: 0x0000C1F5 (0x00000000, <--repeated 8 times)." When I try safe mode the drivers load, the screen flashes twice, the Dell logo appears and I am back to windows error recovery screen.
I have not down loaded any new programs. I do not have a boot disk, or a program disk for Vista. I was told I did not need one so I am assuming all I need is in the partition of the computer?? I don't know much about computers but I am willing to learn. Can you help?
