Windows Installer 4.5 Should I Upgrade to 4.5?

Hello fellow Bleepers! :huh:

I was recently offered an update for Windows Installer through Windows Update. It was for version 4.5.

If I upgraded, will all my apps that use .msi technology still work? In other words,

a) Will any currently installed programs that use WI be able to be uninstalled or updated successfully with the new 4.5 version (eg: iTunes/Quicktime, Adobe, etc.)?

Are most of the common .msi based software installers compatible with the new 4.5 version?

Finally, is 4.5 worth the upgrade or even necessary?

Running Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 fully patched.
Current Windows Installer is the one that came with Vista.
