BleepingComputer.com: What are these blue memory dump screens (pictures included)

About a month ago I got a blue screen indicating a "dump of physical memory." It was pointless because it was displayed for about 2 seconds and the machine restarted. I adjusted a setting (dont remember how) and was able to take pictures of 2 different instances of it (it has happened a total of 3 times now).

I also get computer freezes quite often, but 95% while playing media files. These messages I got while playing games. Is there a way I can look up what the specific codes mean? I have 160 gb drive, maybe 40% full. After I got the first blue screen I did update the bios to the newest version via flash drive (asus).

You need to try to upload thos graphics as images, following the directions for attachments (just below the window you post in).

Both errors are 0x8E and these are almost always caused by hardware issues and are particularly a strong indicator of corrupted memory. However, they can sometimes be due to faulty drivers.

In both Blue Screens they cite the driver nv4_mini.sys which is the Miniport driver for Nvidia based video adapters. It is essential for proper video rendering.

Update your Nvidia drivers.

I updated the driver a few weeks ago after the first error screen. When you say corrupted memory do you mean bad ram?
