BleepingComputer.com: HP_Recovery & Heathy Unknown Partition

Hi,

I wanted to either delete my previous topic or edit the Topic Title but I couldn't find an option to do so.

I've discovered as stated in my prior topic that the D partition, which is the HP_Recovery portion of the hard drive, was missing.

HP formatted my hard drive into two partitions or volumes. One volume is the HP Pavilion (C:) The file system is NTFS and its status shows as healthy (System). The other part of the volume is HP_Recovery. My HP_Recovery used to be assigned to the (D:). The file system is FAT32 and its status shows as healthy (Partition Unknown).

I found this info in the Computer Management section under Disk Management. When I right click on the HP_Recovery volume it gives the following options: Open, Explore, Mark Partition as Active, Change Drive Letters and Paths..., Format, Delete Partition, Properties and Help.

The only option available is the Delete option.

I'm thinking I somehow need to remap the HP_Recovery to drive (D:) but I don't know how to do this and since the Change Drive Letters and Paths doesn't work so I can see where it's supposed to go, I'm a little lost.

Is there someone available that has Windows XP Home, installed on an HP and is familiar with fixing the mapping path to a drive or restoring the path? LOL

Windows XP Home
version 2002
Service Pak 2

Please let me know what else is needed if anything.
