BleepingComputer.com: Icon problems

Hi everyone hope someone can help me out..

Ok here goes, last night my desktop icons were normal I ran an AVG 8 scan and when I turned it on today all my program and game desktop icons (and ones in the desktop folders) have a square in front of them as per the pic. I can move a problem icon to the quick launch then the square disappears, they are normal in the installation folders and the start menu, I tried to change the icon but the square remains, tried making another from the installation folders but the same thing...the programs work fine

I tried system restore also but didnt fix it..

Im using Vista Premium


any help would be great
