Microsoft provides applications that permit reading Office files without having MS Office installed on your computer, handy if someone sends you are Word, Excel, or Powerpoint file and you don't have MS Office. These applications, however, do not allow you to edit the contents. Here is Microsoft's list:

Should you need to both view and edit Office files, you have the option of downloading the free OpenOffice.org suite, which is compatible with Microsoft Office files:

I've just red the post. . .

Good thing there's such application for those who don't have MS Office installed in there computers.

Thanks!

P.S.
I don't know how it is in other countries, but here in the Philippines, I've never encountered a computer without MS Office installed.

SteelRay Project Viewer is a good viewer for MS Project Pro, but costs $35 per license. Any solid free options?

I have Open Office because I can't really afford to get the Microsoft Office programs, and it works really well. The only problem you have to remember when saving files is that saving them in Open Office format is probably a bad idea if you're intending them to be read by, say, Microsoft Word.

I don't know any free options for Steelray Project Viewer, though, sorry.
