I have a Dell inspirion laptop that someone "thought" they were installing Microsoft Office on...well, instead they attempted to install a Windows Vista upgrade. Now when I start up and attempt to log in, it brings up "Windows Activation" and "Your Activation period has expired and windows is no longer working"
"To use Windows you must use this copy of Windows"
I have no idea what happened. Is there a way for me to restore to the factory settings without having the original O/S CD?

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around
