Dear All,
I have my computer hooked up to the internet via a wired ethernet connection. My computer says that the connection is "excellent" but then the internet cannot display webpages, both Mozilla and Internet Explorer. I have tried messing with the settings (in internet options) but none of them are working.

I tried detect settings automatically, no proxy, automatic proxy.

I also don't know what a poxy is, so it says I have to type one in, but I don't know how to do that.

It's so frustrating, because it has nothing to do with the connnection, the connection is great.

Thanks in advance.

Is this a new internet connection you are setting up? or an established internet connection you've been using and now suddenly does not connect?

In firefox, go tools>options>advanced>network (its a tab)>settings and click no proxy.

Or try downloading safari or opera or use IE and try to connect with them cos it might be firefox and not ur connection.
