I have a mouse that is a problem because I will be typing away in a document, etc., but wherever the mouse is 'laying' at, my cursor automatically goes to that point in my document.

I cannot find anywhere to turn it off.

Thanks, Pat

Please, give more details so someone can help you.

Brand of the mouse ?
OS you are using ?
When you are typing the document, on what are you typing it (example Wordpad, Microsoft Word...)?

Regards

It is a Microsoft Optical USB mouse. I am using Vista but I had the same problem with XP.

It does not matter what I am typing into, like this document, if I pause to think (yes, I occasionally do that  ) it will jump to wherever the mouse was last left on the screen. If I place the mouse cursor away from the screen (like to the right) it will open something that is nearby, such as the speaker volume.

It is so annoying!

Thanks for checking on the details, I forgot to add them. I thought you might be clairvoyant. . . .

Pat

Sorry for letting you waiting

Install the mouse driver from the following website and see if it works. (Let's hope that works!)

It is a little less sensitive, but still goes to wherever the cursor is located on the screen.

I really am unhappy with my Toshiba Laptop, anyone want it cheap?

Pat

Vista, optical mouse, Logitech.
