Hi, I have been trying to get rid of Windows Defender definitions and updates from add/remove. It says "this update cannot be removed". I can't even find the program . Just how do I get rid of it?
I have windows xp. What should I do?

Thanks,
cajunbk

Follow the directions in the link below for disabling Defender. You cannot uninstall it in Vista.

You will get still get alerts from security center until you replace Defender with another antispyware.

 Windows Defender is a must for your PC. :flowers: I don't understand why you would even want to uninstall Windows Defender updates unless some how it got infected.
