firefox crashing

hi was directed here after having problems with firefox crashing ,thought it was a virus but everything was passed clean, firefox just crashes at random maybe 4 plus times a day , can any one advise on how to solve this ,

One thing that occurs to me is that an extension or a combination of extensions might be causing the crashing.

Have you tried running the "Safe Mode" version of Firefox? You can find it this way:

Start ==> All Programs ==> Mozilla Firefox ==> Mozilla Firefox (Safe Mode)

Try running this Safe Mode version of Firefox and see if you still experience the crashes and let us know one way or the other.

hi ok ive tried running in safe mode seems to make no differance apart from it lasts a bit longer before it crashs

Have you installed the latest updates? From what I've read, the latest update, to version 3.0.10, has fixed a bug that caused some crashes.

hi yes it auto updates version i have is Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.9.0.10) Gecko/2009042316 Firefox/3.0.10
