Everyday, for the past week and some days, my power supply fan will make a flickering sound that will cut in and out-like, starting around lunch time 12:00PM (GMT) and go on throughout the day, till around 8:00PM. The sound will sometimes cut out for about a good half-hour to an hour then come back. But now the strangest thing is I do not hear it at all after those hours. I stay up late and do not hear it even around 4:00AM here. The temp in my computer changes frequently at anytime, depending if I leave my door open. But like I said it only makes that sound between 12:00PM and 8:00PM... For the past week and some days...

Weird? I don't know, I just had to share this with you guys!

When my old computer's fan started to make noise, I opened it up, cleaned it, oiled it and assembled it back - very delicate process. It started working without noise. Of course, not everybody should attempt to do this, as it may render the fan useless.

Replace the power supply with a known good unit......Quickest way to check the power system.....and it looks like PS may start to act up after its been on for a little while......if I understand your sleep pattern.....you don't want to go poking in the PS.....just replace it.
