BOOTING PROBLEMS Cannot even boot to safe mode with command prompt after failed windows vista update
Can't format laptop but couldn't even boot in command prompt

I installed some Windows Updates requested by Windows Vista, and when booting to terminate the installation... lights went out and now I cannot boot in:
  • Safe mode
  • Safe mode with networking

  • Safe mode with command prompt
  • Last Known Good Configuration (advanced)

  • Directory services restore mode
Should I run System Restore?
I DO NOT want to lose my data, or format the hard drive.

When try to boot in Safe Mode what I get is the black windows "safe mode" desktop, and in the corners of the desktop "Safe mode" as usual but only mouse responds. no keyboard. No Explorer, no command prompt

What should I do???

Thanks!!!
