On my other laptop, Garry's Mod always comes up with the error "hl2.exe has stopped working" during the loading screen. It works on my laptop, and they're nearly identical.

Specs:

Vista Home Basic

Intel 965 Chipset

Intel Core 2 Duo at 1.5 GHZ

Recently reformatted, Service Pack 1 and drivers are all installed.

I've reinstalled Steam and Gmod already.

There's also the details of the error.

Have you tried updating your Intel chipset drivers? Also, you should try updating your sound drivers too.
