I would suggest the purchase of a new mouse or using a friends mouse to test and see if your mouse is at fault. It's not uncommon for multiple problems to occur at the same time as a mouse wears out. If the new or borrowed mouse does not improve the situation please post back. Also is the mouse PS2 or USB? Wired, Wireless, or Bluetooth?

Thank you I will try to borrow a mouse & check that out.
However, I keep getting a pop up saying new uodaters are available to install. I cklick on install & i get a pop up saying update CANNOT be installed (NVIDIA GeForce 4 MX420)

My mouse is PS2 (what ever that means ) LOL wired.
I haven't been able to borrow a mouse. But a new update keeps trying to install (NVIDA GeForce 4 MX 420) & it cannot for some reason. Also, in the device manager, there is a yellow circle w/an exclaimation point on that.
I know at one of the times I had to unplug everything on computer, the plud to video was hard to unplug even tho I loosened the screws on each side , out still had to pull on it & the screws came out also. i did get it plugged & screwed back in tho.

Link to Nvidia support and driver download below.
http://www.nvidia.com/page/support.html

Driver Installation Hints
* "Download Accelerator" utilities should be disabled when downloading any drivers.

* Do not run virus protection software in the background while installing the drivers. This prevents the driver from configuring itself properly.

Isn't it awful when you have that feeling? It is quite taxing on the brain trying to figure out what it is you have forgotten
