I am connected to router and connection keeps turning on and off for a second then it turns back on It is constantly doing it and I'm confused why is keeps flashing ?

Could it be inside my ethernet slot on my laptop could something be loose? cuz when i click the ethernet plug it isnt entirely securly fastened to the slot i think and it keeps flashing that its d/c
