i have come across this MSAgent in vista a few times and was wondering what it is or its use. it has a wee icon of what looks actually like a classic "agent" or detective (complete with hat sunglasses and shifty look) on the agentsvr application. it is in my windows files and says was last modified 2006, ( pc only few months old) so im guessing it was installed as part of vista? could it just be some sort of patriot act type addition by "the man" or maybe a virus hiding itself in there to avoid detection? any advice would be great, if i should post this in a security forum also please let me know. thanks very much. jim |
