Posting this question for my sister as she's not a registered member.

Sister has an HP desktop with a wireless mouse. (pretty much all I know about it)

She said that sometimes, not always, when she is on the computer the mouse, on it's on, will move to one side of the page by itself and sit there for just a minute. She has put new batteries in it but that didn't alleviate the situation. I told her to get rid of the wireless mouse but she doesn't really want to do that.

Didn't know if I should post this under hardware/software or where so thought I'd start here.

Any suggestions?

Also, has anyone heard of I.S.P. providers starting to charge their customers by the number of downloads they do? I heard a rumor that some of the major providers are giving this a trial run to see how it works.
Anyone being charged like this or heard something like this?

Thanks

Does she have updated drivers for the mouse installed? You'll need to know the make and model of the mouse to find the appropriate drivers.

ISP's are testing internet usage by their customers. They want to set limits to the amount of stuff you can download (not the number of downloads). I really don't like the idea because if you're a gamer (like myself) or stream videos off of netflix or a similar program, you can go through the limited amounts quickly.

I'll check with her about the drivers although I don't think she knows what they are

Thanks for your response. I'll do some checking.

check the position of the receiver and make sure theres nothing else in the area broadcasting that could interfere with the signal as well.

Sometimes the little "eye" on the bottom needs to be cleaned. If it gets dusty or dirty it can affect the cursor...

Yeah, I told her to make sure that it was cleaned off. Haven't heard back from her if this worked or not.

Thanks..
