Yes, this printer did print before I just uploaded the drivers, but you had to feed the paper one sheet at a time. So today, when I went to use the printer to print a tutorial from here, it just won't print and I got a message pertaining to where is the colour cartridge is. Huh? This is a black and white printer. So with my very limited knowledge, I uninstalled both the printer and the drivers. Then, I unplugged the two cords to the printer. Now my question is, because I know Windows can be fussy, which should I do first? Download the drivers...then hook-up the printer or what? OS is Windows XP..ser pack 3. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Connect your printer to your computer and plug it in while the computer is off. Windows should automatically detect the printer when you turn your computer back on. Now, go to 'Control Panel', 'Printers and Other Hardware', 'Add a printer'. Follow the boxes to install the printer's drivers.
